Junior Golf Academy at Hampton Court Palace Golf Club

For Ages 11 to 18

Give your child the opportunity to learn and develop their golf skills in a structured, fun and supportive environment. Our Junior Golf Academy offers regular coaching sessions designed to help young golfers progress at their own pace while building confidence both on the practice areas and on the golf course.

Sessions combine technical coaching, games and challenges with opportunities to experience real golf situations so players can develop the skills needed to enjoy the game.

No Experience Needed

Most juniors who join the academy are completely new to golf. Sessions are designed so beginners can start straight away without needing any previous experience.

Golf clubs can be provided and our coaches will guide players through the basics of the game in a fun and supportive environment.

The focus in the early stages is on building confidence, learning the key skills of the game and understanding how golf is played.

Junior Academy Groups

We keep group sizes small to ensure every player receives individual attention and support.

Monthly membership: £60 per month

Sessions take place at Hampton Court Palace Golf Club:

Thursday 5:00 pm
Sunday 2:00 pm

All equipment is provided for beginners so players can start without needing their own golf clubs.

What We Work On

Our coaching programme follows a simple four week cycle that covers the key areas of the game.

Week 1 focuses on putting
Week 2 focuses on chipping
Week 3 focuses on the full swing using irons and drivers
Week 4 focuses on learning and playing on the golf course

This mix of practice and on course learning helps juniors develop confidence while understanding how the game is played.

Progression Through the Academy

As juniors improve they will begin to spend more time learning on the golf course and developing the skills needed to play full rounds of golf.

To move up from the beginner level players should demonstrate:

Understanding of the order of play on the golf course
Ability to get out of a bunker and rake it correctly
Proper etiquette when searching for balls and taking drops
Respect for the putting green and practice areas
Helping collect balls from out of bounds on the range

These expectations help juniors develop not only their golf skills but also the etiquette and respect that are an important part of the game.

Pathway for Junior Golfers

As players progress they may be invited to:

Play supervised rounds on the golf course
Work towards gaining an official golf handicap
Take part in junior competitions and matches
Progress into more advanced coaching groups

Our aim is to help young golfers develop confidence, skills and a lifelong enjoyment of the game while making friends through golf.
