Fun group golf for younger juniors at Hampton Court.

Fairway Friends is the younger-junior group programme at Hampton Court Palace Golf Club. It is designed for children who need golf to feel active, enjoyable and social while they learn the fundamentals of the game.

Sessions use games, targets and challenges to develop putting, chipping and full-swing skills without turning every lesson into a technical lecture. Children can start as beginners and build confidence over time before progressing towards the older MEGA Juniors pathway.

Fairway Friends is specific to Hampton Court. At Sandown, younger-junior group coaching sits under MEGA Juniors instead.

Ages 4–11 · Hampton Court

Why the younger pathway is intentionally different.

Young children learn best when they are moving, playing and solving simple challenges. Fairway Friends uses golf games to build the skills underneath the game — contact, direction, putting, chipping, balance and coordination — without making a one-hour group feel like a technical lecture.

Parents do not need to buy into a high-performance pathway from day one. The aim is for children to enjoy coming to golf, build confidence and gradually understand how the game works. Juniors who become more interested in scoring and competition can progress towards the older MEGA Juniors pathway.

Fairway Friends is the younger group brand at Hampton Court only. Sandown's younger junior groups are MEGA Juniors ages 4–11, while Leatherhead uses the ZS Juniors brand.

Private junior coaching with Gareth is available alongside the group programme, which can be useful if a child wants individual help with one part of the game or simply responds better to a quieter one-to-one setting.
